Compressed natural gas (CNG) used in natural gas vehicles (NGVs) emits 20 percent less carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas), 70 percent less carbon monoxide, 89 percent less volatile organic compounds and 87 percent less nitrogen oxide than petroleum-fueled vehicles.

Abundant. The Potential Gas Committee’s 2009 report of the nation’s natural gas resources indicates that the U.S. possesses a total resource base of 1,836 trillion cubic feet. This massive resource base coupled with the United States’ ever increasing reserves gives America a 100-year supply based on current consumption levels.
